Well here is an old favorite that just about everyone has heard of. What a tradition Clement Moore began when he wrote this wonderful old poem. Growing up we always read "The Night Before Christmas" at Christmas time and today we still recite it faithfully every Christmas Eve with our kids. This version is a pretty nice book, even if I do say so myself. There are 36 pages of text and plenty of colorful paintings illustrating the famous poem.
Selected for both the 2012 Junior Library Guild and Dolly Parton's Imagination Library
Everyone knows the children's rhyme "Mary Had a Little Lamb," few people realize however, that there really was a Mary and there really was a lamb and they really did go to school--Honest. I wouldn't try to pull the wool over your eyes. The story is a charming one and is based on the writings of Mary herself. (The lamb never did learn how to write)A delightful, true story with loads of wonderful illustrations, Mary and Her Little Lamb will be a brilliant addition to the library of the little folks in your life.
