Rip Van Winkle, like The Legend of sleepy hollow is based on Washington Irving's famous writings and is considered by many to be the companion book to sleepy hollow. This is the story of Rip Van Winkle, who along with his dog Wolf, ran away from a day's hard work only to discover a long forgotten hollow inhabited by a strange band of revelers who gave him a potion so strong that he went to sleep for twenty years! His tale still haunts the Hudson Valley and some say the noise and commotion caused by that band of revelers can still be heard in the mighty, booming thunder which frequently echoes down the valley. Re-told and illustrated by Will Moses the book is 48 pages in length with 42 original color illustrations by Will.
